conduct
AWS User Group Davao is a place to learn without fear or judgement. Everyone — members, speakers, organizers, and guests — agrees to these standards at every event and in every space we run.
Our pledge is simple: be a decent human. We’re here to help each other grow, and that only works when everyone feels safe, respected, and welcome — whatever your background or experience level.
What we expect
Be respectful
Treat everyone with kindness. Disagree with ideas, never attack people. Assume good intent, and give it in return.
Be inclusive
Welcome newcomers and beginners. There are no “dumb questions” here — everyone started somewhere, and no one learns alone.
Be considerate
Your words and actions affect those around you. Make space for others to speak, and be mindful of the room.
Look out for each other
If you see someone struggling or uncomfortable, help out or flag an organizer. We keep this community safe together.
Not okay here
Harassment of any kind
Offensive comments, intimidation, stalking, unwanted attention, or sustained disruption of talks and events.
Discrimination
Demeaning or exclusionary behaviour related to gender, identity, orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, age, or experience level.
Unwelcome contact
Inappropriate physical contact, sexual attention, or persistent one-on-one contact after being asked to stop.
Bad-faith behaviour
Sharing others’ private information, disruptive self-promotion, or anything that puts people or their work at risk.
Reporting
Something feel off — at an event or online? Tell an organizer wearing a Leader badge, or email conduct@awsugdavao.ph. Every report is taken seriously and kept confidential.
We listen
Reach out however you’re comfortable. You won’t be judged, and you don’t need proof to raise a concern.
We act
Organizers may warn, remove, or ban anyone violating this code — at our discretion, with no refunds where fees apply.
We follow up
We’ll check in with you on the outcome, and do what we can to make the community safer going forward.
